Anand shock defeat at Corus |

India had bad opening in the Corus Chess tournament held at Netehrlands. World champion Vishwanathan Anand and Grandmaster Koneru Humpy were both defeated in there first round matches. Anand suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Teimour Radjabov of Azerbijan in group 'A'. In other group 'B' match Grandmaster Humpy playing in black did not get enough chances against Jan Smeets of Holland. The lone survivor was P Harikrishan and he too was on verge of defeat at the hands of Nigel Short of England. |
